GDPR training – get set to stay legal in 2018
We’re delighted to announce the arrival of our comprehensive suite of in-depth e-learning courses to help organisations prepare for and comply with GDPR, which comes into force in May next year.
GDPR is the most significant update to data protection legislation in a decade, and every business, government and third sector organisation needs to be aware of its demands.
Working with specialist technology legal firm, Clayden Law, we’ve designed these new courses not only to provide everything you need to know to be GDPR compliant, but also to cover narrative and legislation requirements from the recent Data Protection Bill.
But GDPR will affect different people in your organisation in different ways. You’ll want training which perfectly meets the needs of their roles; whilst getting them up to speed with the minimum of fuss or time out from the day job.
With this in mind, Me Learning has produced a strong programme of engaging and highly informative e-learning courses for four main categories of learner.
Core – For your whole team – a basic GDPR primer to align everyone around data security
Foundation – Ideal for anyone tasked with executing policies and demonstrating data protection best practice
Practitioner – A comprehensive package for the GDPR lead responsible for compliance in your organisation
Board – An introduction for business leaders who need to know the strategic principles of GDPR
Me Learning’s online training covers everything you need to know, including:
- Introduction and Background
- Definitions, Principles and the Law
- Individual Rights
- Steps to Compliance
- The Accountability Principle
- Sanctions, Remedies and Liabilities
- Information (Privacy) Notices
- Breach Management and Notifications
- Supply Chain Management
As with all regulations, staying the right side of the law is as much about how you handle it in your organisation as the letter of the law itself. Get it right and you can run a better operation, too.
For GDPR, getting it right is about a shift in culture and a step change in the way we handle personal data. Training will help underline the importance of GDPR to your team; and help you successfully manage the process of becoming GDPR compliant across your organisation – from the board to the shop floor.
With less than a year until the new legislation is in place, it’s imperative you have a plan. Training is a very good place to start.
