Digital care software users at a community healthcare trust were able to learn quickly, safely and easily thanks to a partnership between Me Learning and the software provider, The Access Group. The Access Group provides market leading Electronic Patient Record solution Access Rio, to a number of NHS trusts across the UK.

As cutting-edge training specialists, we provided fully digitised role-specific training software. This was used during a major technology implementation at the Trust, cutting training time by up to half, meaning learners could spend more time caring for their patients rather than away from the workplace.

We developed interactive tutorials and activities which could be accessed from any location, on any device. All learners receive role specific, consistent training, which was also responsive to their learning styles and preferences.

This online training was deployed at a time when COVID-19 was reducing people’s availability to undertake face-to-face training. It was soon discovered that this approach was more effective because it enabled them to grasp new functionality more quickly and practice in preparation for the new system go-live.

The training went live in September 2020 and remains available for 1,200 healthcare professionals. With a 95% course completion rate, the platform still helps to simplify processes and policies, and provide refresher training and induction training for new starters.

Steve Whiteman, Managing Director at The Access Group said: “We were delighted to provide exactly the right tools to help improve the quality and availability of training. We look forward to speaking with others to show how online training can alleviate some of the pressure faced by healthcare professionals and give them more time to provide patient-centred care.”

Nick Richards, CEO at Me Learning added: “More and more of our customers have discovered over the past couple of years that high quality digitalised learning is not just more convenient, but it is also a more effective way to learn, particularly when it comes to learning system functionality. We are increasingly finding that once tried, customers are reluctant to return to old fashioned classroom or train the trainer style learning because digital learning achieves quicker and better results.”
