Adults and children’s safeguarding partnerships in the Tees area have selected Me Learning to provide digital safeguarding training for their adult and children’s social care workforce and partner agencies.

Under the two-year contract, Me Learning will develop a suite of digital training courses for 12,000 learners working with those at risk of abuse and neglect in the Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland areas.

There are already well-established partnership arrangements in place across the area through the Teeswide Safeguarding Adults Board (TSAB), Hartlepool and Stockton-on Tees Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSSCP) and the South Tees Safeguarding Children Partnership (STSCP), which has enabled all the organisations involved to benefit from joint contract arrangements.

The training, some of which is mandatory and some specialist, will be aligned with nationally recognised competencies relating to both adult and children’s services. Learners will follow different pathways depending on the requirements for their role and whether they specialise in adult or children’s social care. Individual modules cover a broad range of topics relating to the identification and management of different types of abuse, including the correct procedures and good practice guidance to follow. All training content will be developed by Me Learning with input from subject-matter experts.

Me Learning CEO, Nick Richards says:

“By both embracing all that digital learning can offer and working in a highly collaborative way, the different partnerships in the Tees area will be able to train their employees and partners more effectively and for less, so they can do their jobs well and serve their local communities.

“By sharing costs, each organisation is able to access a state-of-the-art learning platform and sector-specific courses. But what will really make their training budgets stretch so far is their willingness to embrace a modern digital approach. Our solution provides an engaging and consistent experience for all learners and at the same time minimises the time user need to spend away from business as usual activities while training.

“We are really pleased that the Tees partnerships have chosen Me Learning, and we are very much looking forward to working with all the organisations involved.”
