NHS staff in primary care settings supported by Arden and GEM Commissioning Support Unit are to get access to the skills and knowledge they need to use two common software systems for sharing patient information between clinicians.
Me Learning is creating online learning on SystmOne and Emis Web for more than 450 primary care practices in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Lincolnshire and Essex, which are supported by Arden and Gem. This will provide consistent training for primary care clients as part of a comprehensive package of IT support.
The move has come about as NHS organisations seek new ways to access software training, with less reliance on face-to-face learning. This approach will create a sound base of understanding on the systems for different roles within practices, allowing Arden and GEM trainers to focus on the most complex and specialist functionality by blending virtual and classroom training.
Under the contract, Me Learning will create online interactive tutorials for each of the software solutions. Each learner will follow a learning pathway dependent on their role and the processes relevant to them. Me Learning will use cutting edge techniques so tutorials are responsive to learning pace and styles. Each module will contain knowledge checks and a scoring matrix will measure comprehension and provide evidence of compliance. All tutorials will be supported by an online demonstration, which will also be available once interactive learning is complete to refresh knowledge at any time. The full suite will also support new starters during induction.
