Me Learning has worked with digital health and care consultancy Channel 3 Consulting to prepare NHS staff in a community trust in Derbyshire for a large-scale service change that supports Urgent Community Response.

We provided:

  • An introductory video which outlined the purpose of the upgrade.
  • A suite of interactive training tutorials, accessed online from Me Learning’s own Learning Management System.
  • A virtual training course run by Channel 3 trainers.

At Derbyshire Community Health Services (DCHS) NHS Foundation Trust, 350 people, based across eight different sites, completed the training which is tailored to their role. The project which started in November had a phased roll-out.

The digital and virtual learning provided an opportunity to learn new processes in a familiar environment that reflected the live system, so they had a chance to build confidence ahead of the go-live.

Me Learning CEO Nick Richards said: “We are delighted to share our expertise on remote learning and develop a comprehensive digital training package to help this project succeed. People are often anxious about the change new processes bring, so it’s great to know that our training solution will both help reduce stress and build confidence at this crucial time for the NHS in Derbyshire. The pandemic and the national lock-down makes training staff even more of a challenge. This is why providing a digital training solution enables us to reach large numbers of home-workers, giving them both the opportunity and the time to complete this vital training.”

Steve Curd from Channel 3 said:

“Teaming up with Me Learning in this way has enabled us to hit key milestones which would otherwise have been jeopardised by the pandemic….”

Andrea Rowan from Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“We assumed we would use face-to-face classroom training for this project but because of the challenges of Covid-19 that simply wasn’t possible. So, we are delighted to discover a solution which enables us to still meet our timescales, without compromising on the quality of the learner experience. The sooner we implement this system the sooner we can benefit and improve the way we organise the delivery of patient care.”
