Redbridge implemented Me Learning’s Liquidlogic Children’s online training courses in January 2010 to address the challenge facing front-line social workers who traditionally spend time away from caseloads to undertake classroom training.

Redbridge found e-learning to be an efficient delivery mechanism for preparing individuals in the fundamentals of Liquidlogic.

Fully compliant with the latest governmental regulations, Phillip Cooper, Information Systems Team Manager, recognised the benefits of a supporting e-learning training solution. He stated, “The largest benefit is being able to react to the arrival of new staff and deploying training according to specific needs.”

Each user is able to access the range of courses at any time from any computer to take the courses in their own time. The flexibility of Me Learning’s courses has increased the efficiency of Redbridge’s training practice by allowing learners to be fully prepared in the basics of the PROTOCOL Children’s System before attending classroom sessions.

To further streamline the training process, the Borough has focused on a blended learning approach where staff are able to train away from their desks in a quiet, monitored IT area where a trainer is available to provide assistance if required. The half-day of designated e-learning time allows new staff to get up to speed as quickly as possible without the distraction of their daily workloads.

The training supports the PROTOCOL Children’s System to provide practitioners with the required background teaching for successful use of the system.  Following a range of helpful tests and quizzes users are assessed to ensure the PROTOCOL Children’s System proficiency and are provided with a certificate of certification.

Nick Richards, Director of Me Learning, stated, “This is a fantastic example of how, with our training, another forward thinking council has addressed the Government’s call for austerity. We are pleased to see the success that Redbridge has had with their initial roll-out of the e-learning and look forward to seeing the benefits to cost and time develop in the future.”
