Social Value at Me Learning

Me Learning is a business which really cares, about our clients, our staff and our supply chain partners.

We are passionate about making a difference in the communities where we work and we put extra effort into helping our clients achieve their own social value goals.

To do this we believe in creating a positive culture for our people. One where they have plenty of opportunities to develop and progress within our organisation. We encourage all to make a positive contribution and above all to be themselves at work.

What we do

When clients switch from traditional training to our digital and virtual training solutions, we can help them demonstrate evidence of a reduction in travel which contributes towards their overall carbon targets.

We choose to host our cloud-based solution through the Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres, which use renewable energy sources to operate.

Helping local economies thrive is often a key driver for our clients and we are happy to support them by offering advice and information sessions for small businesses in their local communities. By sharing our 15 years of experience as a SME, we can help others just starting up.

To support the Brighton and Hove community, our web developers built a website for a charity working with young people with learning difficulties.

This helps the charity better promote the work they do with young people with Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Dyslexia and ADHD, providing outdoor education and therapeutic support using eco-therapy and outdoor education to complement the school curriculum. This approach has also enabled the Moulsecoomb Forest Garden to gain support from a wider audience and has increased the donations they receive to support their work.

Through our contract with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), we have in place a ‘Social Value’ agreement. We provided access to free training across the GMCA, on a range of topics which are important to personal development.

The local authorities involved have discretion to distribute free access to this training to help address issues relevant to the local area. For example, Rochdale Council has used this to provide free access to training for unemployed people in their area, so they can build new skills and prepare for employment. So far, 2000 people across the GMCA have enrolled on the free courses in this way.

We work extensively with the charitable sector and like to try to give over and above through our contractual arrangements. For example, when we worked with the ManKind Initiative on a digital online training programme to raise awareness of male domestic abuse, we helped with promotion, hosted training on our LMS and we shared revenue from sales equally with the charity.
