At a leading financial institution, we are working to enhance the skills of 2000 participants in the delivery of formal and informal performance management conversations. This key initiative is required to build the skills and culture in which their teams can flourish.

Due to his reputation, our Director of Behavioural Learning, Roger Ayres was approached to consult a senior group of stakeholders and spearhead the design and development of this pivotal training programme. It aims to shift the culture at the firm, including the adoption of a new set of values.

The programme, which is being delivered over 14-months, is being rolled out by our team of 15 dedicated and skilled facilitators, all experienced in providing in-the-moment feedback, facilitation and roleplay.

A key driver for the programme was that it needed to be practical as well as grounded with the latest thinking and approaches on how to deal directly with performance issues, encourage innovation and a growth mindset, while still treating everyone with care and respect – living the firm’s values. Therefore, the design, which incorporates translating theory into purposeful practice, has been hugely beneficial.

So far, the programme has been experienced by over 500 learners and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. It is praised for striking the perfect balance between support and challenge while delivering engaging and helpful training that caters to various learning preferences.

• 99% are feeling more equipped to have challenging conversations with their team.
• 98% are feeling more equipped to manage the performance of their team.
