Level 1 is appropriate GDPR training for the vast majority of staff, clergy and those holding church offices. The course provides an introduction and background to the Data Protection Act and the GDPR requirement incorporated within this. It talks about why the legislation was introduced; the similarities and differences with the old regulations and the enhanced rights we all have in relation to the processing of our personal data.
It includes two modules which take approximately 30 minutes each to complete:
- Data Protection
- Individual Rights
CPD duration: 3 hours
Level 2 builds on the core training (level 1) and suits those with communications or marketing as part of their role e.g. fundraising, stewardship, planned giving, pastoral or evangelism activities. Written in partnership with The Chartered Institute of Marketing, this course gives a good understanding of GDPR in the context of Communication and Marketing.
This course cover in 6 modules:

- Individual Rights
- Consent and Other Conditions for Processing
- Information (Privacy) Notices
- GDPR Guidance for the Marketer
CPD duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes
Level 3 is for those with significant responsibility for data protection within a department or organisation but who are not acting as Data Protection Officers (see Level 4 Practitioner Training for this).
This course covers in 7 modules:

- Breach Management and Notification
- Steps to Compliance – part 1

CPD duration: 5 hours
Level 4 is for those who work closely with GDPR, such as Data Protection Officers. This provides those with overall responsibility for data protection within their organisation with the knowledge to ensure their organisation is compliant. This course contains the following 11 modules.

Level 5 is for chief officers, trustees, and senior people who need to understand their accountability responsibilities but do not need detailed practical information on how to implement the principles of GDPR in their organisation.

CPD duration: 45 minutes
