Me Learning and Social Housing Academy to Launch New Competency & Conduct Framework for the Housing Sector

May 11, 2026

Me Learning has announced a new strategic partnership with the Social Housing Academy (SHA) to launch a comprehensive e-learning programme designed to support housing professionals ahead of the upcoming Competency and Conduct Standards, due to come into effect in October 2026.

The Competence and Conduct Standard is set to introduce a sector-wide, outcome-based framework for those working in social housing in England.

What this means for Social Housing Providers:

  • Clear records of training needs, qualifications and plans to close any gaps.
  • Evidence of the impact of training and development, not just attendance records e.g., improvements in service delivery over time.
  • Customer feedback, such as complaints, compliments and satisfaction data showing how service quality is experienced.
  • Memberships of relevant professional bodies and clear routes for continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Records showing how poor performance and conduct are managed.

Developed in collaboration with industry experts, the Housing Pro e-learning bundle is the first of its kind, designed to equip housing practitioners with the knowledge, confidence, and consistency needed to meet evolving regulatory expectations and deliver high-quality services to residents.

The programme comprises 10 in-depth e-learning courses covering essential areas of housing practice, including tenancy management, mental health, rent and arrears, antisocial behaviour, complaints handling, and allocations. Each course has been designed to reflect real-world challenges and provide practical guidance aligned with best practice standards.

All content has been developed and delivered by the Social Housing Academy, bringing extensive first-hand sector experience into the learning experience. The framework is suitable for housing associations, local authorities, and organisations seeking to strengthen professional standards across their teams.

Eva Payton-White, Housing Lead at Me Learning, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with the Social Housing Academy on this important initiative. With the Competency and Conduct Standards on the horizon, there is a clear need for high-quality, accessible training that supports housing professionals in their roles. This framework has been designed not only to ensure compliance, but to genuinely build confidence, consistency, and capability across organisations.”

Amy Stirton, Founder of the Social Housing Academy, added:

“This collaboration brings together sector expertise and innovative learning design to create something truly impactful. The Competency and Conduct Framework reflects the realities of working in housing today, and supports professionals to navigate complex situations with confidence and professionalism. Our goal is to raise standards across the sector and ensure practitioners feel supported and empowered in their roles.”

The training can be delivered flexibly, either through organisations’ existing learning management systems or via Me Learning’s platform, making it easy to integrate into existing learning and development strategies.

As the sector prepares for increased professionalisation, Housing Pro provides a timely and practical solution to help organisations stay ahead of regulatory change while investing in their workforce.
