A London council has taken a major step to strengthen workforce skills and safeguarding knowledge by commissioning Me Learning to deliver 30 brand-new e-learning courses.
This training programme which launched in September 2025, reflects the council’s commitment to ensuring staff across the borough have the tools, knowledge, and confidence to protect and support their diverse communities.
The training offer covers a broad range of essential and advanced topics, identified through a comprehensive Training Needs Analysis (TNA) which gathered staff feedback, service manager input, and sector-wide requirements.
Key areas include Safeguarding Levels 1–3 as well as modules on Gangs and youth violence, Autism awareness, LGBTQ+ awareness, Trauma awareness, The framework for assessment course and lots more.
All courses will be available via the council’s existing Learning Management System (LMS), making access simple and flexible. The courses have been designed by Me Learning in short, engaging modules to allow learners complete the training at their own pace.
Why This Training Matters Now
The new programme is aimed at a wide range of professionals, spanning early help, children’s and adult services, education, health, police, and the voluntary sector. By embedding safeguarding and professional development into everyday practice, the initiative will strengthen professional standards and improve service delivery. It will also ensure every staff member, from new starters to experienced practitioners, has the knowledge and confidence needed to respond effectively to children, families, and adults at risk
Me Learning was selected for its reputation in delivering interactive, practical, and accessible training. This ensures courses are not just completed but genuinely absorbed and applied in daily practice so that leaners build their skills, boost their confidence, and support your professional growth.
A member of their workforce development team said:
“We know how challenging it can be for staff to find time for training, but we also know how critical it is to keep skills and safeguarding knowledge up to date. This new programme makes learning accessible, engaging, and directly relevant to the needs of our workforce. By investing in this training which is flexible training, we believe that we’ll see the benefits in staff confidence, service quality, and ultimately the outcomes impacting members of our community who we serve.
Safeguarding and professional development remain central to the council’s mission, and by working with Me Learning, the organisation is ensuring that staff have access to the very best resources to support children, families, and adults across the borough. This partnership demonstrates a continued commitment to empowering the workforce so they can deliver safe, inclusive, and high-quality services to every resident.
Tracking progress and impact
With the programme now officially live, the council will continue to promote the initiative through targeted emails, flyers, newsletters, and live demonstrations at multi-agency forums. Both the council and Me Learning will monitor uptake and feedback to ensure the programme remains relevant, impactful, and aligned with emerging needs throughout the year.
