West Kent Housing Association champions staff development through bespoke e-learning from Me Learning

January 13, 2026

In a proactive move that puts people and exceptional delivery at the centre of housing services, West Kent Housing Association has collaborated with Me Learning to strengthen the knowledge and skills of its workforce through a suite of e-learning courses.

Known for their dedication to building strong communities and delivering quality homes, West Kent is making an intentional and strategic investment in staff development.

In line with this commitment to staff development, West Kent chose a bespoke bundle of courses, tailored by Me Learning to reflect their local policies and context. To further deepen their team’s understanding of the diverse needs within their communities, they also invested in additional off-the-shelf courses – most notably Autism Awareness and Disability Awareness.

This decision was not made lightly. For West Kent, this isn’t just about expanding their training offering, it’s about providing essential learning that equips their people to respond with empathy and confidence in the communities they serve. They recognised the importance of ensuring all staff, whether in frontline roles or office-based are not only informed about sensitive topics but are also equipped to identify signs, respond appropriately, and provide inclusive, empathetic support.

James Pope, Learning and Development Manager at West Kent Housing Association, said:

“We’re proud of the culture of learning we’re cultivating at West Kent. Our work with Me Learning reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. By tailoring courses to align with our policies and localised needs, we’re giving our teams the tools they need to provide exceptional service to our residents. At West Kent, we believe that the quality of services residents receive is directly tied to how well-equipped and confident their staff are. That’s why we’re so pleased to be working with Me Learning. The e-learning isn’t just high quality, it’s engaging, interactive, and built to truly connect with our teams.”

For a lot of organisations, training is something you do to tick a box. But West Kent is taking intentional steps to shape their culture and make a real difference.

This work with Me Learning, also serves as a call to action for other housing associations to reimagine how they support and upskill their teams. It’s a reminder that investing in learning is not a nice-to-have, it’s a necessity for organisations who want to show their people that their development matters because the service they provide matters.

Eva Payton-White, Senior Learning Consultant at Me Learning and sector lead for housing, said:

“From the very start, West Kent were clear, they didn’t just want courses; they wanted learning that meant something to their teams and the people they support. This is about more than ticking boxes. It’s about building real understanding, developing confidence, and making sure staff feel valued and prepared. We’re proud to support West Kent on this journey and excited to see the lasting impact this work will have.”

This investment from West Kent has reinforced the fact that a great step in achieving real organisational goals is to start with your people. It also shows that beyond delivering quality homes, investing in staff development today will lead to stronger, safer communities tomorrow.
