We are living through a defining moment for churches across the UK
Safeguarding, especially regarding any form of sexual harassment or abuse, cannot remain a box to tick or a policy on a shelf. It must become a living, breathing part of church life, practised daily, embodied in leadership, and trusted by those we serve. This is no longer just about policy, it’s about people.
Sexual harassment and misconduct have long existed in the shadows of the church. Sadly, it has sometimes been hidden behind closed doors, dismissed as misunderstandings, or buried beneath a culture of silence.
At Me Learning, we believe the Church has a powerful opportunity to lead real societal and cultural change. Our e-learning package helps churches equip their leaders, teams, and wider congregation.
A time to lead differently – Why the church needs to need act now
In line with the Worker Protection Act, which came into force last year, our Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace e-learning package is here to help.
With survivor voices rising, and numerous disclosures in recent years, the question facing church leaders is no longer “Is there a problem?” but rather, “What will we do next?” The realities are alarming:
- 79% of survivors never report abuse unless they believe their leadership will protect and support them.
- In 2024, high-profile resignations reignited grief, scrutiny, and an urgent call for action from within and outside the church.
- Legal consequences are real. Leaders who fail to act now could face serious accountability in tribunal settings.

Our blended training package vs. traditional learning
In this package, we use a range of five distinct learning interventions (2 skills sparks, 2 Skill Boosts, 1 Skill Reel) which contain different techniques to ensure content is engaging and learners remain focused. This consistent reinforcement which is relayed in bite-sized chunks within contextual, realistic scenarios ensures that organisations, including churches can guarantee knowledge retention and most importantly, a lasting culture change.
Unlike traditional stand-alone courses, where retention drops to below 20% within months, our blended learning package strategically reinforces learning over 12 months, maintaining retention rates above 80%.
We can work with you to ensure this package matches your church or ministry’s objectives, timescale and budget.
How the church responds in this moment will shape trust for generations to come
The findings over the past few years have made one thing painfully clear – the church stands at a pivotal crossroad in how it prevents sexual harassment, misconduct, and abuse. This isn’t just about response. It’s about prevention.
This is your opportunity, not just to meet your legal obligations, but to lead with spiritual and moral integrity. To protect your people. To be the church others look to as a model of courageous, compassionate leadership around safeguarding, especially around any form of sexual harassment or abuse.
We understand that translating intention into action takes practical tools. This is why Me Learning developed this learning package to be more than just another training programme. It’s a solution that will help you take meaninigful action that will impact your church and community not just just today but for years to come.
